RFP -- Vehicle Systems Research
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has a requirement to procure services that require a range of research skills, which could be called into use to plan, conduct, and document studies concerning vehicle electronics safety to address any and all aspects of vehicle reliability, cybersecurity, advanced control systems (e.g. batteries), and emerging technologies (e.g. vehicle automation). The tasks and experiments performed under this contract will provide the support needed by NHTSA to: Advance deployment of new vehicle technologies; Assure that safety is maintained; Identify potential safety problems; and Evaluate system requirements and regulatory options. This procurement is anticipated to result in a competitive, multiple award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the services detailed above. Maximum competition is encouraged for this requirement regardless of current teaming arrangements on NHTSA contracts. A presolicitation teleconference will be held in order to address questions and concerns regarding the requirement and the promotion of competition in this procurement. The details of this teleconference will be provided by a subsequent amendment to this synopsis. While maximum participation in this teleconference is encouraged, all topics developed and discussed during the teleconference will be captured, typed, and posted on another subsequent amendment to this synopsis.
