Institutional Biosafety Committee

If you want to use recombinant DNA or pathogens in your research, you must submit an application for review and approval to the Chair of the Biosafety Committee.  The Biosafety Committee Chair will determine if your application requires full committee review and schedule a meeting, as needed.

The IBC provides guidance to University researchers who use recombinant DNA or biological agents in their research. The mission of the IBC is to ensure that research is conducted within existing laws and guidelines that aim to protect the workers, the general public, and the environment.
