Radiation Safety Committee

The Radiation Safety Committee (RSC) has the responsibility to oversee University programs utilizing radioactive materials or ionizing radiation machines. They assure all activities are carried out in accord with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Environmental Regulatory Code Title 33, Part XV: Radiation Protection. In addition to reviewing and approving applications, the committee is responsible for inspecting laboratories where radiation is used and the Radiation Safety Officer must approve purchases of radioactive materials.

The Radiation Safety Committee must review, request more information, if needed, and approve your application before you can begin your research.

Submit an application to the RSC using the online application form. Use your UL Lafayette login credentials to access the system.
